Franco Chinese Renewable Energy Cooperation Forum Successfully Held

On June 24, 2025, in Paris, the EURO-CHINA Executive Club (EC²) was officially launched alongside the Franco‑Chinese Renewable Energy Cooperation Forum. The event, cohosted by the NEOMA Business School Confucius Institute (NCIB) and the Europe China Business Center (ECBC) with support from the UIBE Alumni Association in France (UIBEAF), Silk Road Business School, the Association of Chinese Youth in Science and Technology in France, People’s Daily Online French Edition, XENIA Consulting, Monlot Real Estate, and several other partners, took place in the heart of Paris’s La Défense business district. It set out to deepen collaboration between Chinese and French companies in the renewable energy sector while strengthening cultural and economic ties between Europe and China.

Nearly 100 guests from both countries attended, representing the energy industry, academia, business, and investment fields. Distinguished participants included Yves Bamberger, Honorary President of the French Academy of Technologies and former Advisor to the President of EDF; Frédéric Lajoux, Director at Enedis Marne; Zhou Changfu, Deputy General Manager of China Construction Bank (Europe) Paris Branch; Qi Nan, Senior Manager at Bank of China Paris Branch; Gai Qiang, Marketing General Manager at CGN Europe Energy; Liqun FENG, Chairman of Fengtech; Victor HU, Chairman of SolaNer; and Li Yonggang, General Manager of the Europe China Business Center.

The forum focused on the theme “Renewable Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction.” In his speech, Victor Bernard, Executive Director of NEOMA Business School Confucius Institute, outlined EC²’s mission and long‑term vision, presenting its 2025–2026 activity plan and range of services. He emphasized that EC² is an open platform for Chinese, French, and broader European entrepreneurs, committed to fostering trust and cooperation through high‑quality dialogues, thematic seminars, and cultural exchanges, with the goal of establishing a sustainable Europe–China business ecosystem.

Guest speakers shared a wealth of insights and best practices. Yves Bamberger highlighted the evolution of energy systems and the significant opportunities for collaboration between China and France during the energy transition. Frédéric Lajoux moderated a lively business exchange session. Fengtech showcased successful joint innovation projects with Chinese partners in green energy. SolaNer presented case studies on pioneering green data centers and renewable energy projects in France. A representative from China Construction Bank discussed their experience in structured and green finance, while Li Yonggang introduced ECBC’s initiatives to help European and Chinese enterprises expand internationally and strengthen bilateral economic ties.

The event concluded with dynamic discussions among participants on green industries, technological cooperation, and project implementation between China and France. It not only marked the official launch of the EURO-CHINA Executive Club (EC²) but also created a practical, high‑level platform for future cooperation. Moving forward, EC² will continue to host a series of themed events to drive cross‑cultural business collaboration and promote industrial partnerships rooted in sustainability.
